Learning self compassion/ How to care for yourself while caring for others

This is a fun and interactive workshop that provides an understanding of compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma for care-givers in any profession.  The participants will gain an awareness of how their personal and professional life is impacted by consistent exposure to the pain and suffering of others.

 Objectives will include:

This workshop revolves around a serious topic that will be delivered in a light hearted and insightful way to help those that give of themselves to be aware of how much they also sacrifice of themselves.  This workshop is a transformational experience that provides a new perspective on the importance of prioritizing and making room for self-care.

 

  • Self evaluation.  Learning to recognize the signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue and Vicarious Trauma

  • What does it mean to live a balanced life. We all wear several hats and juggle several roles in our lives.
    • Learning to create adequate time and space for all that is important. Strategies to be proactive and sustain future health and well-being.

  • Tools to navigate the rocky landscape of providing care to others including organizational and work place stressors

  • Do you walk the walk as well as talk the talk?
    • Learning how to make emotional and physical health a lifestyle choice.

Participants will leave with:

  • A renewed and refreshed outlook on work

  • A clear plan to prevent burnout and/or career and personal crisis

  • A complete transformation lifestyle perspective; living a healthy and fulfilling life is not optional.
